YOGA IN BAGHDAD???
“Being the Change, You want to See in the World” …
IS the Attitude I serve my country with daily while
being deployed in Baghdad, Iraq 2006-2007 and
NOW! As a community art-ivist, a yogini, a SOUL-
Jah...a true soldier. I use Gandhi’s infamous quote as
well as Dr. Martin Luther King’s as my motivation
and inspiration to “Live 4 Love”—my elixir for Life!
Creating peace in Baghdad I believe is an “inside”
job…. Sharing the gift of Power Yoga Flow here is
truly all about BEing Present and responsible for
our actions...not playing small, showing up, making a
difference—BEing “Powerful Beyond Measure!” I
share that "Our Breath is the Mirror of our Minds”
for I know through my own yoga practice in this
completely war torn country, that the connection to
our breath allows a space for Peace; therefore, we
MUST Breathe Deep!
Prayer, Faith--SOULFULLNESS influences our
Planet; it is my Passion and Purpose to Promote
Peace…affecting the hearts and minds of those in
attendance with the intention that the energy can
transform them and the lives of others …THUS an
“inside” job!....to our Core, our Soul and to our Light.
While what we can visually see in war, in conflicts at
home or wherever may appear hopeless, I know the
instruction and sharing of yoga cultivates positive
change---It's not that we need to "withdraw" from
Baghdad...We need to go "within!"
Perhaps…when we offer ourselves up and share in the
opportunity to consciously act from within, things
can CHANGE from “inside” our hearts HERE and at
HOME. We become beacons of light for others in a
dark and dismal place…Yoga is an invitation for our
souls to Open and Shine…it’s not just in some of us
but in EVERYONE…when and if we can accept that
gift --the very essence of Love for one another we
will feel Heaven right Here, There, Everywhere—
PEACE! ...Bring it, Be About it...Just Flow!
